Maverick pop star and composer extraordinaire Rufus Wainwright has been booked to play the prestigious Sunday midday slot on the main stage at Latiutude 2012. Previous acts to play this slot have been Thom Yorke and Joanna Newsom.

This year the coveted midday performance on Latitude’s Obelisk Arena has been changed to the slightly later time of 1.00pm.  This change will allow festival-goers to enjoy both Rufus and also world famous concert pianist Lang Lang, without competition from any of the other stages. Lang Lang will perform on the stunning floating Waterfront Stage set to the glorious backdrop of the Latitude lake at noon. Following on from Lang Lang, Rufus’ set will undoubtedly be a spellbinding show and the perfect way to ease your way into the final day’s festivities.

Latitude is headlined by Bon Iver, Elbow & Paul Weller, weekend and day tickets are on sale now!

The hottest property in music Lana Del Rey has been confirmed to perform at this years Latitude Festival, other new additions to the bill include: Ben Howard, Low, dEUS, Walls and Breton and more. Latitude is headlined this year by Elbow, Paul Weller & Bon Iver. Other acts that are appearing include Laura Marling, Richard Hawley, Bat For Lashes, The Horrors and much much more.

Latitude is more than just a music festival, the festival incorporates multiple arenas including the best in comedy, film, poetry, literary, cabaret.  Also announced this week is the waterfront stage featuring Golden Fables 2012, a multimedia poetic drama commissioned by cultural solutions UK for the cultural olympiad.

The bite-sized acoustic music festival, returns to the historic leafy grounds of Hatfield Park on 22nd July with another first-class line-up, including: Show Of Hands, The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain, Cara Dillon, Breabach, Chris Wood, Nancy Kerr & James Fagan and Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo.

More names announced for Truck Festival

One of Englands favourite indie festivals Truck is celebrating its 15th birthday this year. And the line up is ensuring this is a birthday party you do not want to miss. Confirmed to headline the festival are The Mystery Jets & The Temper Trap. Today saw a further announcement of loads of a new acts confirmed to appear:

These include: Tim Minchin, Future Of The Left, Turbowolf, Man Like Me, Spring Offensive, The Dreaming Spires, The Last Republic and much much more. Check out the Truck Festival website for the full line up!

The biggest dance act in the world The Chemical Brothers have been confirmed to return to the biggest dance festival Creamfields, they will be bringing their legendery preformances to the Annie Mac Presents Arena on the Saturday of the festival. This rare DJ set will be one of the highlights of the festival. Also announced is the all new Nation stage featuring the best DJ talent the UK has to offer.

Beacons is a 3 day festival based in the picturesque location of the Funkirk Estate, Skipton. Featuring a line up of cutting edge artists, workshops, site installations and much more. Confirmed to headline Beacons are: Roots Manuva (Friday), Wild Beasts (Saturday) & Patrick Wolf (Sunday). Also joining them are: Factory Floor, Ghostpoet, Maya Jane Coles, Willy Mason, Frankie & The Heartstrings, D/R/U/G/S and much much more.

Field Day and its sister festival The Apple Cart takes place over the weekend of 2nd & 3rd June at London’s Victoria Park. Field Day is an all day music festival with performances from: Franz Ferdinand, Baxter Dury, Beirut, Grimes, SBTRKT, The Vaccines and much more, where as The Apple Cart is a unique day festival for lovers of music, comedy, cabaret, interactive art and magic; appearing on the bill include: Adam Ant, Beth Jeans Houghton, Noah & The Whale, Rich Hall, Miles Jupp, Seann Walsh and much much more.

The Hop Farm Returns in 2012

The Hop Farm a non sponsorship festival based in Kent returns in 2012 with a stellar line up of acts confirmed. Bob Dylan, Peter Gabriel & Suede have been confirmed as headliners, joining them are Damien Rice in a rare festival appearance, Primal Scream, My Morning Jacket and much much more.

Reformed influential grunge rockers Soundgarden play London’s Hyde Park as part of the Hard Rock Calling festival in July this year. Hear all the big hits and new material from the bands forthcoming new record. Confirmed to support them is the iconic Iggy & The Stooges, expect a raw, loud and energetic live show from the punk outfit.
